UMUERI, ANAMBRA STATE, NIGERIA – MAY, 2026 Teenage girl was brutally attacked by two young women. The attack was captured on video, which subsequently spread on social media and sparked outrage. The women repeatedly beat the girl with sticks and their hands, while some bystanders filmed the attack and provided the attackers with objects to continue assaulting her.

According to available information, the conflict began after the girl allegedly remarked that the child of one of the women, identified as Kosi, looked thin and malnourished. The woman was reportedly enraged by the comment and subsequently attacked the girl together with the second suspect. However, the exact relationship between the victim and the suspects, as well as all the circumstances of the incident, are still being clarified by police.
One of the attackers, 19-year-old Chidimma Ogugua, was arrested by police just a few hours after the incident. The second attacker successfully hid from police, and it is not known whether she was ever apprehended.
