TÂN PHÚ TRUNG, ĐỒNG THÁP, VIETNAM – SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 36-year-old Huỳnh Thị Nghĩa attacked her 56-year-old mother-in-law, L.T.T., with a knife in the early morning hours. According to investigators, conflicts had been occurring between the women and the husband’s family for a long time while they were living together.

Nghĩa married the victim’s son in 2011, and they had two daughters together. Around 2023, her husband left, and Nghĩa remained living with her mother-in-law and children. She supported herself through temporary labor and, according to her statement, had to manage the household on her own.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., Nghĩa reportedly took a knife and stabbed her mother-in-law several times. The woman died at the scene. Nghĩa was arrested by police shortly afterward.
According to the latest information, Nghĩa was charged with murder and taken into custody. An autopsy reportedly determined that the cause of death was acute blood loss; the victim had multiple injuries, including two stab wounds to the chest and side that penetrated the heart.
