NỘI BÀI, HANOI, VIETNAM – OCTOBER 19, 2026 17-year-old student L.H.V. attacked his teacher, L.T.H., after she punished him for failing to complete his homework. During the incident, which took place at Mạc Đĩnh Chi High School, he punched her in the face, causing a fracture of her nasal bone.

The teacher, who is also his homeroom teacher, suffered a fracture of her right nasal bone. Her condition subsequently stabilized, and she remained under medical care.
The incident occurred during a review lesson before a test. The student and several other classmates had to stand in the corner of the classroom because they had not completed their homework. Angered, L.H.V. subsequently punched the teacher.
Police detained the student later that same day. Investigators in Hanoi initiated criminal proceedings against him on suspicion of intentionally causing bodily harm. The case remains under investigation.
