BAVARIA, GERMANY – OCTOBER 21, 2026 30-old Manuel Otto, the German creator of the popular Facebook game Stick Run, died after setting himself on fire during a live broadcast on Twitch. His body was found after a fire at a property, which a neighbor noticed and attempted to extinguish. Twitch subsequently removed Otto’s channel and recordings of his death.

His death was confirmed by the Stick Run development team on Facebook, which paid tribute to his work. Otto created the multiplayer obstacle course game in 2010, when he was just 14 years old. The game gradually attracted more than 43 million players worldwide across computers and mobile devices.
