UKRAINE Video recorded by a drone operator captures a probable war crime committed by Russian forces during the war in Ukraine. The footage shows a Russian soldier cold-bloodedly executing five captured Ukrainians.
The execution of prisoners of war without a proper trial is prohibited under international humanitarian law. Their deliberate killing therefore constitutes a war crime. This applies to all soldiers who are no longer able to fight, whether due to injury or surrender.
