SARRAT,ILOCOS NORTE, PHILIPPINES – AUGUST, 2015 Dead body of a young woman was found dumped near the highway on August 4, 2015. She had a gunshot mark on her head at close range, suggesting she had been executed. It was also confirmed that she had been raped. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Jemima Kezia Mata Andres. She was a non-conflict student of Marian Marcos University (MMSU) in Batac City.

Police investigation led the officers to the trail of Victorino Mangubat, Jr. Many of her friends testified that he was often in her vicinity in the days before her death. He was probably interested in having an intimate relationship with her, but she refused. Taking it by force was probably what drove him to murder.
Jemima was buried on August 12, 2015 in Currimao. As you can notice, the murder of this innocent girl has not left many people cold. Many of them wore a t-shirt with “Justice for Currimao” on it for her funeral.
