SORONG, WEST PAPUA PROVINCE, INDONESIA – JANUARY 12, 2025 Corpse of a young woman was found on Saoka beach. She was almost naked and had 32 stab wounds in her body. She has been identified as 20-year-old Kesya Irena Yola Lestaluhu.

Shortly after the discovery of her body, the perpetrator was also caught – Agung Suyono Wahyudi Ponidi, an active member of the Indonesian Navy. He confessed to her murder during his testimony and stated that his motive was the affect of her ending their love relationship. He also admitted that he was drunk at the time of the murder.
