CANCÚN, MEXICO – APRIL, 2025 20-year-old art student from Detroit, USA, Alejandro Gonzalez, went on vacation with a group of friends to the popular Mexican resort of Cancún. While swimming in the sea on April 20, Alejandro noticed that one of his friends got into trouble and was being swept away by the ocean current. Without hesitation, he went to rescue his friend. He succeeded, but was himself pulled away by the current and disappeared.
The search for him was long unsuccessful, and it was clear to everyone that the worst had likely happened. Sadly, this was confirmed on April 23. His dead body — or rather, what was left of it — was found on the beach. It had been gnawed down to the bone by sea creatures.
Alejandro was a talented artist and a promising student. He died prematurely while heroically saving his friend’s life. However, Alejandro’s mother does not have sufficient funds to transport his body back to the USA. Through the GoFundMe platform, she is asking for your help.
