KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN, 2025 Several terrorists were eliminated during a successful military operation. They reportedly belonged to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is more commonly known as the Pakistani Taliban.
The soldiers then piled their bodies onto the bed of a truck for transportation. Many passersby filmed this on video. The graphic footage subsequently spread across social media, which terrorist propaganda also used for its own purposes. They began circulating the footage along with disinformation claiming that the victims were actually civilians whom the army had killed simply so it could show the public that it was carrying out some activity.
TTP is an Islamist militant organization founded in 2007 that operates primarily in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and in areas near the border with Afghanistan. Its goal is to overthrow the Pakistani state and establish its own system of government based on its interpretation of Islamic law. TTP has historical ties to the Afghan Taliban, but it is a separate organization. Pakistan and several other countries designate it as a terrorist organization and attribute numerous attacks against civilians, soldiers, and police officers to it.
