From the cut-off vagina, one can make potions, create a talisman, bury it under a house, or offer it as a sacrifice to spirits.
Many human rights organizations operating in Africa, including the UN, are actively trying to fight these practices. They believe that education and raising awareness among people in less civilized areas will help stop this.
