SOLEDAD, COLOMBIA – APRIL 7, 2024 33-year-old Juan Carlos Coronado was surprised on the street by a hitman, who fired a bullet directly into his head, killing him on the spot. The incident took place in the El Parque district and was recorded by a security camera.

While some sources speak of a robbery motive, it is much more likely that this was a contract killing. Coronado was a small businessman, the owner of a winery in the Chiquinquirá district, and had allegedly been living under threats from extortionists for some time.
