MULTAN, PUNJAB, PAKISTAN – AUGUST 27, 2026 Naeem, also known as Mohammad Rahim, arrived at the home of his wife Amna Bibi’s (28) parents in the Grid Station area on Vehari Road. According to police, he went there because of their child, but he subsequently got into an argument with Amna Bibi and began shooting. Amna Bibi suffered gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
Naeem then also shot her mother, Abida Bibi (52), who was outside the house. The woman suffered two gunshot wounds to the abdominal area and was taken to Nishtar Hospital. Her condition was later described as critical but stable.
Police said that Naeem and Amna Bibi had been experiencing marital problems for a long time and that divorce proceedings were underway. Financial problems have also been mentioned as a possible background to the conflict. Naeem fled after the shooting and, according to the latest available information, remains at large.
