ABUJA, NIGERIA – MAY 26, 2025 Near the Abacha military barracks (officially known as the Mogadishu military post) there was an explosion. According to all available information, the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber who had an improvised explosive device attached to himself. He tried to get inside the barracks, but exploded before he succeeded.
The incident claimed the life of the suicide bomber, who died immediately. One civilian passerby was also injured.
On New Year’s Eve in 2010, a similar suicide attack occurred at the same location, but that time it claimed several lives.
