Mother and her young daughter collided with tanker truck

MANAUS, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – JUNE 10, 2025 Accident occurred on Av. Margarita. The mother, 28-year-old Adricelia de Souza Picanço, and her 6-year-old daughter, Maria Júlia, were riding together on a Yamaha Max motorcycle in the early morning hours. She was taking her daughter to school when they collided with a tanker truck whose driver was making an illegal turn.

At first glance, the crash looked fatal, and passersby who rushed to help believed both victims were dead. But upon closer inspection, they realized that both were still breathing. They at least covered the victims with cardboard to shield them from the sun until an ambulance arrived.

Both were transported after receiving first aid to a city hospital, where they were admitted in critical condition. There are no updates available on their current health status. The case is still under police investigation.
