PORTO ALEGRE, RIO GRANDE DO SUL, BRAZIL – JUNE 5, 2025 Security cameras at the bar captured the moment when several hitmen attacked a group of customers. Two people, a man and a woman, died on the spot. Two others were injured. The incident took place on Geraldina Batista Street in the Costa e Silva neighborhood on the north side of the city.
The police department that monitors gang activities in the city expressed concern that this was not a targeted attack on specific individuals, but that the victims were chosen randomly. According to them, the aim of the attack was to instill fear and demonstrate dominance in controlling territory for drug trafficking.
