CHORONÍ, ARAGUA, VENEZUELA – JUNE 26, 2025 As part of the “Fiesta de los Pescadores” fishing festival in Venezuela, it is a long-standing tradition to let a bull loose in the street so that people can interact with it and see it up close. But this year, when a group of men tried to free the bull from a tangle of ropes, the animal panicked. In a moment of fear and confusion, it charged at a young woman standing nearby. Two men rushed in to help her, but quickly realized there was nothing they could do. She died on the spot.
The tragic event has triggered public outrage and widespread debate about the way the bull was handled. Many people are placing blame on the group of men who were managing the animal, arguing that if it hadn’t been for their mishandling, the fatal incident likely wouldn’t have happened.
