TURBO, ANTIOQUIA, COLOMBIA – JULY 18, 2025 Tragic workplace accident claiming the lives of three workers occurred in the rural area of the city of Turbo, in the Urabá region, where the mega port project Puerto Antioquia is currently under construction. According to preliminary reports, the three workers were embedding steel-reinforced concrete rods, known as piles, into the ground when a strong steel cable suddenly snapped. The cable whipped with such force that it literally cut one of the workers in half.
