FLORIANÓPOLIS, SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL – JULY 24, 2025 Homeless man entered the office of a lottery company located in the Floripa Shopping mall, where he poured a flammable liquid – likely gasoline – onto the floor and threatened to set it on fire. When mall security tackled him to the ground, directly into the pool of fuel, he didn’t hesitate and struck a lighter anyway.
Although bystanders reacted immediately and managed to extinguish the flames quickly, the man still suffered first- and second-degree burns. His condition is serious.
In addition to him, a security guard who tackled him sustained minor burns, and several other people in the area inhaled smoke during the incident.
