CALABOZO, GUARICO, VENEZUELA – JULY 26, 2025 In a remote area of the El Mangal district, on the road to the Guaitoito settlement, a man’s body was found showing signs of extreme violence.
The victim was completely naked, had his penis cut off, part of his face was missing, and his entire body was covered with stab & cut wounds that told a horrific story of pain and torture he endured before death.

Based on documents found at the scene, he was identified as 66-year-old Carmen Valentín Páez Torrealba, also known by the nickname “Carmito.” He was a well-known and respected figure in the area. People spoke of him as a humble and hardworking man. None of them can explain the cruelty that befell him.
Carmen was best known for his seed business. Everyone in the vicinity was used to buying seeds and seedlings only from him. He owned a store on the corner of Roble in Calabozo.
His body was transported to the forensic institute, where an autopsy will be performed. The police are working hard to find and prosecute the perpetrators. The entire Calabozo community is calling for justice for his death.
