BURIRAM, BURIRAM PROVINCE, THAILAND – MARCH 2, 2026 Sixty-two-year-old man, identified as Samorn, drove his pickup truck directly into the middle of a local restaurant’s outdoor seating area. The target of his attack was a group of eight people, among whom sat his thirty-four-year-old ex-wife, Pensri. She was at the establishment with friends and her new partner celebrating the departure of a close friend abroad.
The toll of the attack is tragic: seven injured, with two people fighting for their lives in the hospital. Samorn immediately fled the scene but later turned himself in to the police with a curious defense – he claimed that his mobile phone fell under the pedals and he lost control of the vehicle. However, witnesses and Pensri herself testify to long-term jealousy and an unwillingness to accept the breakup, suggesting that it was a cold-bloodedly planned revenge.
