NIGER Government armed forces of Niger carried out a successful counter-terrorism operation, killing more than 200 terrorists. Video footage shows the aftermath, with the bodies lined up side by side for easier documentation and identification. It is also evident that a large cache of weapons, including explosives and machine guns, was seized.
Niger, a country in West Africa, is currently facing a growing threat from terrorist groups. In the Tillabéri and Diffa regions near the borders with Mali and Nigeria, jihadist groups linked to Al-Qaeda and ISIS are active.
