UKRAINE In recent days, another video has surfaced online documenting violations of the Geneva Conventions during the war in Ukraine. It shows a captured soldier being tortured by his enemies during an interrogation, with cuts inflicted on his face in an attempt to extract valuable information from him.
Torturing prisoners of war is prohibited under international humanitarian law. Such an act is considered a war crime. Perpetrators can be prosecuted by both national and international courts.
