AGRESTE, PESQUEIRA, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – MARCH 5, 2025 Two corpses of a man and a woman were found in a remote area known locally as Sítio Barra do Rio. They were later identified as Maria Gabriela da Silva, 28, and Domingos dos Santos Filho, 32. They were a couple. Both were murdered by a close range shot to the head, indicating execution.
Several witnesses said that the night before they were found, a group of armed men were seen violently kidnapping them from their home in Sítio Cachoeira. However, the motive and identity of the perpetrators remain unknown.
