SERRA DO MEL, RIO GRANDE DO NORTE, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 Body of 33-year-old bricklayer Israel Feliciano Varela was found in a wooded area of Piçareiras near Vila Brasília. The man had suffered gunshot wounds and was subsequently decapitated. Police also recovered shell casings, a shovel, and a hoe at the scene.

According to preliminary information, Israel had left his home with his brother, who could not be located when the body was found. Police therefore investigated whether his disappearance was connected to the case.
