NORTH BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND, UNITED KINGDOM – JUNE 8, 2026 According to the investigation, the main suspect was a 30-year-old man originally from Sudan, Hadi Alodid, who was arrested shortly after the attack and charged with attempted murder. The attack took place on a street in the northern part of Belfast, and the victim suffered very serious injuries, including injuries to the face, neck, and head. Doctors had to save his life, and some reports state that he lost one eye.
A key breakthrough in the case came from crime scene footage and witness statements, which confirmed that the attack was very violent and took place in a public area. Police subsequently quickly identified the suspect and detained him. Investigators also stated that the attack is not considered terrorism-related, but rather a standalone violent criminal act.
