Members of a drug cartel murdered their captive in one of the worst possible ways. While his hands were tied and he was lying on the ground with no way to defend himself, they beat him to death. They struck him with the blunt side of a machete, kicked him, and made him suffer a painful death that lasted endless minutes. They ended his torment only after several hammer blows directly to the head.
The incident highlights the danger that comes from entering such criminal organizations or having any cooperation or contact with them. For these people, human life has no value. A person’s worth, by their moral standards, is measured only by their usefulness to the organization. These groups also often profit from selling drugs. These drugs can be bought by end users even in countries like the USA, the EU, or Australia, where customers may feel that this Latin American violence does not concern them. The opposite is true. Incidents like this are one of many reasons to say no to drugs.
