ÇARŞAMBA, SAMSUN, TURKEY – AUGUST 26, 2026 18-year-old Esra Turan died after an electric bicycle collided with a car in the Çarşamba district. The accident occurred on the Samsun–Ordu road near the Dikbıyık area, approximately 22 miles (36 kilometers) from Samsun.

According to available information, Esra Turan was attempting to cross the road on an electric bicycle at an intersection when she was struck by a car driven by 57-year-old Umut Fahri Cebeci.
The impact was very strong, and Esra Turan suffered serious injuries. According to some reports, she was taken to Çarşamba State Hospital, where she died despite the doctors’ efforts. However, other Turkish sources report that medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene when they arrived.
The collision itself was captured by a security camera at a nearby business. According to media reports, the footage shows the car hitting the electric bicycle, causing Esra Turan to be thrown into the air by the force of the impact and flip several times before landing on the roadway.
