SOBRAL, CEARÁ, BRAZIL – JULY 22, 2025 Tony de Paula was found murdered in his home in the Parque Silvana neighborhood. His hands were tied behind his back, and he had multiple gunshot wounds to the head, indicating an execution-style killing.

According to initial reports, an armed group stormed into his home. Shortly afterward, gunshots were heard from inside, and the attackers fled the scene. Their identities remain unknown.
The motive behind his murder is also unclear. Tony worked as a child rights advisor for the local child welfare council (Conselho Tutelar). According to his family, he had no known problems or enemies.
