CHANGDE CITY, HUNAN PROVINCE, CHINA – APRIL 20, 2025 As the mother was crossing the road with her child, she let go of their hand to allow the child to run ahead to the other side. But she would regret this seemingly innocent decision for the rest of her life. A turning cement truck came barreling through the intersection and, before her eyes, crushed her little one.
Though the truck driver is at fault – evidenced by the fact that the mother and child had waited for the pedestrian crossing signal – this tragedy serves as a sobering lesson for all parents and road users alike. Whether you’re a pedestrian or a driver, always anticipate others’ mistakes on the road. A moment of carelessness can cost a life.
