PERU Tragic traffic accident occurred in which a municipal truck carrying materials struck a couple traveling on a motorcycle. The accident occurred at a location known as the Curve of the Souls, where road repairs and maintenance were underway at the time due to an emergency situation.
The woman suffered extremely serious injuries in the collision, particularly to her pelvis and lower limbs. Her condition was critical, and despite receiving assistance shortly after the accident, she died a short time later.
The man who was traveling with her on the motorcycle escaped with less serious injuries. Rescuers transported him to a hospital, where he was expected to undergo further examinations and specialized treatment.
Police and the public prosecutor’s office are now investigating the circumstances of the accident. Investigators are expected to focus primarily on how the collision occurred and whether the truck driver was at fault.
