CJNG cartel eliminated entire Mexican National Guard convoy

SAN ISIDRO, TLAXCALA, MEXICO – FEBRUARY 22, 2026 After the top boss and founder of the CJNG cartel, El Mencho, was eliminated by government forces, a wave of violence broke out in the country that lasts to this day. Members of the CJNG are trying to take revenge, creating road blocks and setting vehicles on fire to prevent the movement of the army. They also launch armed attacks on government forces. Their rivals are trying to take advantage of the situation where the CJNG is weakened and, as part of a power struggle, are trying to occupy their territory.
