SAN MARTÍN, PERU – FEBRUARY 21, 2026 Collision between a motorcycle and a motorized tricycle (trimóvil) occurred on the Fernando Belaúnde Terry highway, claiming three victims. According to the preliminary investigation, the main cause was high speed and the absence of lighting on one of the vehicles.

The victims are Daymer Campos Rodríguez and Andy Sepúlveda, who were traveling in the tricycle, and Luis Fernando Grandez, who was driving the motorcycle. The impact was so strong that both vehicles were completely demolished. The victims’ bodies remained on the roadway for over two hours before the prosecutor authorized their removal. Police are now checking witness statements, according to which the tricycle was traveling in total darkness without warning lights.
