18-year-old girl killed when vehicle crashed into crane

KILTEARN PUBLIC ROAD, CORENTYNE BERBICE, GUYANA – JULY 22, 2024 Bibi Aleah Ali, 18, was a promising medical student. But her life ended in a fatal car accident. She was travelling at night in a car with her husband, 24-year-old Niraz Sukhdeo. He was driving at a high speed and did not notice the excavator parked on the side of the road and hit it head-on.

Bibi was thrown out of the car and suffered non-life threatening head injuries. It was found that she had not worn a seat belt, which could have saved her life. Her husband used the seat belt. He suffered several fractures and was transported to hospital in critical condition, but survived.
