GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR – JANUARY 9, 2025 At the intersection of 17th and Gómez Rendón streets, a collision occurred between a cyclist and a bus of the municipal line 7. According to witnesses, the cyclist suddenly stopped in the middle of the road to pick up an object from the ground. However, the bus driver overlooked him, hit him, and dragged him behind the bus for several feet until it stopped at the curb.
The cyclist died on the spot. His body was so mutilated that it had to be picked up in pieces. His heart was found outside the body. The bus driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by bystanders and handed over to police officers.
