OMETEPEC, GUERRERO, MEXICO – JUNE 3, 2022 Headless body of a man was found in a black plastic bag on the outskirts of the city. Police officers discovered the bag on the city’s bypass near a bridge leading toward Santa María Asunción, in an area known as Paso de la Canoa. In addition to having his head severed, the victim’s legs had also been mutilated.
A fluorescent message threatening other people and labeling them as extortionists, kidnappers, and thieves was found on the bag. The message also named a man from nearby Igualapa, whose identity could not be independently verified.
Local media reported that a voter identification card bearing the name Guillermo Efraín N. was found with the body. His full identity and the circumstances of the murder have not been confirmed in available reports. It is unknown who was responsible for the killing or whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the case.
