SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – JULY 27, 2023 Twenty-eight-year-old Ferenc ‘David’ Stemler, whom police linked to drug trafficking and organized crime, was shot dead in a targeted attack. The murder took place at night outside his home in the suburb of Canterbury. After the shooting, the attackers fled the scene, and the victim’s body remained lying in the street until police arrived. The following morning, schoolchildren walking past the scene also saw the dead man.
Australian police believe it was a premeditated execution connected to conflicts between criminal groups. Investigators used security camera footage to reconstruct the movements of the suspects’ vehicles and, over the following months, charged several individuals with involvement in the murder.
