PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA – FEBRUARY 8, 2024 The Cambodian lawyer, Touch Vattanak, apparently had relationship disagreements with his 26-year-old girlfriend Em Sovedeth. He surprised her on the street as she was getting out of a parked car. He pulled out a Czech-made CZ P-07 pistol and fired several shots into her head, killing her instantly.
It appears he had planned the act in advance and did not act in an act of passion. Immediately when his girlfriend got out, he acted directly and in cold blood. He then attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head. But that didn’t work. He was rushed to the hospital with a serious head wound.
