SMOLENSK, RUSSIA An elderly woman voluntarily sat on the tracks and waited for the train. The freight train literally cut her in half. She died instantly.
Local residents testified that the woman had been struggling with long-term depression. When she buried her second son, it was apparently the last straw for her. She lived alone and was not needed by anyone.
