JILIB, SOMALIA Members of the notorious terrorist organisation Al-Shabaab execute two alleged spies. They are taken to a remote location and executed by a commando team armed with AK-47s. The men were accused of spying for the anti-terrorist forces.
Al-Shabaab operates mainly in Somalia, but also in other parts of East Africa. Their goal is an Islamic state in Somalia in which Sharia law will be very strictly applied. They have been responsible for many kidnappings, murders and terrorist attacks. Among the most notorious is the 2013 attack on the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, which claimed 67 victims. In 2017, they carried out a massive bombing in Mogadishu that killed over 500 people.
