Execution of woman during rival gang invasion in favela

DUQUE DE CAXIAS, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL When armed members of the TCP faction invaded a rival favela, they carried a death list of everyone suspected of supporting the CV gang. The list included a woman whom they dragged out in front of her house and executed with several shots from an assault rifle. They did not hesitate despite the fact that she had two young children at home, aged 3 and 5.

Threatening messages from a TCP member were later found on the woman’s phone. However, she had dismissed them, feeling safe within her own favela.
