TISHRIN DAM, SYRIA Commander of the Women’s Protection Unit (YPJ), combat name Ronahî Yekta, proper name Arşîn Hisên, was killed during fighting with the Turkish army at Tishrin Dam. She was known as a heroic commander who participated in the legendary resistance at Tişrîn and at the Qereqozax Bridge. According to the YPJ, Turkish forces are seeking the territory of northern Syria and the destruction of the values that the people there have built.
