JAKARTA, INDONESIA – MARCH 9, 2024 A family consisting of a 50-year-old man (husband), a 52-year-old woman (wife), a 15-year-old girl (daughter) and a 13-year-old boy (son) decided to commit mass suicide. They took the elevator up to the 21st floor of the apartment complex and jumped off the roof en masse. They landed on the asphalt surface of the parking lot, none of them survived.
Elevator footage shows the man kissing his wife and their children on the forehead and saying goodbye. He also took their cell phones.
The motive for their decision is unknown. It is very likely that the children did not agree or did not know about it until the last moment. In fact, the son and daughter were tied together with ropes and the mother was tied to her son so she could pull them both down. Or maybe it was so they couldn’t change their minds at the last minute.
