LAPU-LAPU CITY, CEBU, PHILIPPINES – JANUARY 6, 2017 Fishermen reported to the Philippine Coast Guard that a dead body was floating in the sea near the shores of Lapu-Lapu City. They pulled her ashore and identified her as 26-year-old Jewelyn Zozobrado Pasculado.

It was unclear whether it was murder or suicide. Jewelyn has suffered from anxiety in the past and has even been admitted to a psychiatric hospital. At the moment, however, there was no indication that she wanted to kill herself. But she was at loggerheads with her two sisters.
Pathologists were unable to find any external injuries during the forensic autopsy that would suggest someone else was responsible for her death. The case was closed as a suicide. But her father, 62-year-old Josephus Pasculado, testified that he did not believe his daughter had taken her own life.
