ORLANDO, FLORIDA, USA – JUNE 5, 2017 At a Fiamma Inc. facility in Orlando, an attack occurred in which 45-year-old John Robert Neumann Jr. shot and killed five of his former coworkers. Neumann, who had been fired from the company in April of the same year, entered the building shortly after 8 a.m. and, according to investigators, deliberately sought out his victims.

The victims were Robert Snyder (69), Kevin Lawson (46), Brenda Montanez-Crespo (44), Kevin Clark (53) and Jeffrey Roberts (57). Four people died at the scene, while Kevin Lawson succumbed to his gunshot wounds at a hospital. Neumann then turned the gun on himself and died. Eight other people who were inside the building survived the attack. He even pointed the gun at one temporary employee and ordered her to leave the building.
According to the local sheriff, Neumann had a negative relationship with at least one of the victims, and police investigated the case as workplace violence. Neumann was a U.S. Army veteran, and according to authorities, there were no signs that he was connected to a terrorist or other subversive organization. The exact motive for the attack was never officially established. However, it is likely that revenge and negative relationships with his former coworkers were the main motives.
