CACHOEIRA, BAHIA, BRAZIL – JUNE 13, 2025 Following a violent shootout among rival gangs in the Recôncavo Baiano region, two gang members were captured and mercilessly executed by their enemies. After killing them, their heads were severed and left displayed in the middle of the town square. Their bodies were later dumped in the Caquende creek near a spot known locally as “Banheiro dos Homens.”
Such brutal acts are usually intended to instill fear in rivals. In this case, however, they managed to spread fear throughout the entire Cachoeira area. This is a rural region where residents are not accustomed to such levels of violence. Unfortunately, gang-related violence has recently been spreading even into the more remote parts of Bahia state.
