Daniel was sitting in a parked car with his 27-year-old brother and two other women. After he got out, a verbal altercation broke out which escalated into a physical altercation. The suspect stabbed Daniel in the leg with a switchblade, severing one of his major arteries.
When Daniel’s brother attempted to intervene, he was injured on two fingers of his hand. The suspect then fled the scene.
Unfortunately, Daniel’s injuries were fatal and he bled to death before emergency services arrived. He worked in construction, was in a seven-month relationship and planned to start a family. His girlfriend described him as a kind and loving man.
Similarly injured people have a good chance of survival if good first aid is given. Remember to stop the bleeding at all costs. Use anything sterile at hand that can be stuffed into the wound and apply pressure. A T-shirt, for example, is great.
