CHISEC, ALTA VERAPAZ, GUATEMALA – SEPTEMBER 12, 2025 Horrific act shook the entire community in the city of Chisec. Twenty-three-year-old Franklin N. attacked his own mother with a machete, inflicting devastating injuries. He cut off her entire forearm and caused several other slashing wounds to her body.
Neighbors who heard the screams rushed to help the woman. Some of them split off to chase down the attacker, who had fled the scene. They managed to capture him and hand him over to the police. The woman was taken to the hospital, where she is fighting for her life. Doctors stressed that she survived only thanks to the quick help of neighbors.
