DUSUN TUA, KELAYANG, INDRAGIRI HULU, RIAU, INDONESIA – JANUARY 20, 2025 Arman Pribadi, a resident of a local village, was just about to hunt in the swamp when he smelled the pungent and putrid odour of death. When he went to the source of the smell, he found a man hanging from one of the trees in a rubber plantation. He was hanging from a nylon rope and was already in an advanced stage of decomposition and infested with insects. Necrosis on his head revealed his skull.
The hanged man was identified as 26-year-old Helhadi Saputra. He lived only 600 feet from the spot where he was found. He had been missing since January 14.
The case was being investigated as a suicide. The probable motive was his drug addiction. He was a frequent meth user. Two months before his death, he even ran away from home because of an argument with his father. He sold his motorcycle for only about $160 to have money for drugs and online gambling.
