MEDELLÍN, ANTIOQUIA, COLOMBIA – MARCH 16, 2026 Large-scale fire broke out in one of the houses in the San Pablo community. When it was brought under control, charred female remains were found in the ruins. She was identified as 25-year-old Selene Roldán Beltrán.
The initial investigation already revealed that it was not an accident, but an intentional crime. The victim’s partner was captured on several CCTV cameras leaving the scene shortly after the fire broke out. Furthermore, her body showed signs of violence, and blood traces were found at the scene.
Although the trial has not yet taken place, the most likely investigative version is that an argument occurred between the partners. He failed to suppress his emotions and killed her. In an attempt to cover his tracks, he then set fire to the entire house where they lived together and fled the scene.
