SOLEDADE DE MINAS, MINAS GERAIS, BRAZIL – MARCH 29, 2026 Incident occurred in a rural area of Soledade de Minas. A man identified as 47-year-old Lucimar da Silva was hit by a train. He suffered a severe head injury, traumatic amputation of a lower limb, and extensive lacerations across various parts of his body. Remarkably, he survived and remained conscious despite his critical condition.
Emergency services were called, but due to difficult terrain, the ambulance had to park approximately 0.3 miles (0.5 kilometers) from the accident site, and the crew had to reach him on foot carrying equipment. Despite the delay, they managed to keep the victim alive and transported him to the hospital in São Lourenço. His condition later worsened significantly, and he ultimately died from his injuries.
Witnesses said they saw Lucimar moving near the tracks. Some local residents are used to using the area as a shortcut, so they did not consider his behavior unusual or dangerous. The incident is currently under police investigation to determine whether it was an accident or suicide.
The video of the dying, severely injured victim should never have been taken. Witnesses who recorded it should have provided immediate first aid instead, even if they believed it was too late. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, remember that it is always worth trying. In such cases, it is crucial to stop the bleeding immediately and call emergency services right away.
